This is a walkthrough to help you publish the web that you created using Microsoft®  FrontPage®  2000 to the internet.   If you have any questions please call the HelpDesk at 1-800-687-0173.  HelpDesk hours are from 8AM to 10PM, Monday through Friday and 10AM to 10PM Saturday.

    After you have created your web using the Microsoft® FrontPage® 2000 program, the next step is to publish your web to the internet.  FrontPage does have its own publisher that you can use to publish your web to the internet.  The following steps will walk you through publishing your web to the internet using FrontPage.

    Once you've got your web page setup the way you want it, you need to click on File, up on the toolbar, and the click on Publish Web.  Once you do that, you should see a screen like the one below.  In the white box where it asks you to specify the location to publish your web, you need to make sure that you specify the server frontpage.brightok.net/~(your username) for the location.  Your username should be entered without the ()'s.    

The important thing on this window is to make sure that you have frontpage.brightok.net/~(your username) in the white box.  That is the location that you want to publish your web to. In this example, my username is jgirard. Once you've got the location entered correctly, click the Publish button.

    After you click on the Publish button, you'll have a window come up and ask you for your username and password.  You need to make sure that the username and password are the same as the username and password that you use to log on to the internet with.  It is very important to make sure that the username and password is in lower case letters with no spaces.  The password will show up as *****, so you need to make sure that you type in the password correctly.  

On this screen here, you need to make sure that your username is in the Name field, and your password is in the Password field.  Once again, you need to make sure that the username and password are both in all small case letters. Once you've got that all entered correctly, click the OK button.

    The next two windows below will show you that your web page is being uploaded, and then it will notify you that the upload has completed.  When you have completed the upload, you can either click on the Done button, or you can click on the link that says Click here to view your published web site.  Once you get to this window you have successfully published your web page to the internet.
